Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will serve as a privacy compliance analyst for a Federal science and technology organization. The individual will also act as a liaison between the organization’s research and development (R&D) program staff and the Executive Branch-level Privacy Office. The individual will assist agency staff in complying with Federal privacy laws and agency regulations, and in preparing supporting materials for the Privacy Office. The individual will draft, review, and facilitate executive approval of privacy compliance documentation, including Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all agency programs are properly reporting privacy issues and submitting the required privacy documentation. As part of this effort, the individual will conduct outreach to increase staff awareness of privacy regulations, responsibilities, and reporting requirements.
Necessary Background:
Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work and learn in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Candidates should have working knowledge of relevant Federal regulations including the Privacy Act, the E-Government Act, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). CIPP/G certification is preferred but not required.
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required for this position.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a USG security clearance.
Competitive Edge Qualifications:
- CIPP/G certification.
- Professional backgrounds working with or supporting U.S. government programs.
- Experience with the Privacy Act, the E-Government Act, and/or HIPAA.
